Staying at home to flatten the curve of the global COVID-19 outbreak has also dramatically reduced the number of cars on the road and planes in the air, causing a drop in the emissions that cause climate change.
Let’s keep these climate actions going by adopting new habits. Take the Driving Is Exhausting pledge to drive less.
Driving Is Exhausting is a student-led campaign, sparking awareness about the links between transportation, health and climate change. Yard signs are being posted in all CHCCS car circles between Oct. 28 – Nov. 10 encouraging drivers to take action together to protect our air and our climate by pledging to turn off cars when waiting for more than 10 seconds.
The campaign encourages our community to walk, bike and take the bus as often as possible. Students are encouraged to download materials from the Idle-Free Schools Toolkit to generate more awareness and action on their own campus and in the community.
